What Does a Wedding Planner Do?

You might think "well duh, they plan a wedding", but here is a more detailed description of what our work entails.



As a wedding planner we do the following:


1. Create checklists, plan a detail schedule and take care of wedding details:


We have experience on exactly what needs to be done in order to accomplish a flawless wedding for you. Having a planner create a detailed checklist and schedule is the best way to keep everything organized. We schedule all the appointments for you and we are here to remind you about everything that needs to get done in a timely manner. Not to mention we have done this before, so we know what we are doing. We provide you with a detail timeline for your wedding day from start to finish. We also coordinate all aspects of the ceremony ensuring anyone who is involved knows exactly what to do so that you don't have to worry about it. As the planner we handle all the aspects of the reception as well. We make sure all the vendors set up correctly. We make sure all the deliveries have arrived and ensure all the small details are handled and placed where they need to be. This includes the escort cards, favors and other special displays. As the planner we make sure everything is set up according to your expectations. We can send you photos while you get ready so you can feel at peace knowing it looks exactly how you wanted it to be. As the planner at the end of the reception we hand out all your personal belongings and wedding gifts to the person you designated and they will keep them safe until you see that person again, for example your parents or the maid of honor.



2. Budget:


We keep you in check when it comes to spending your money for your wedding. You might think, “well I don't need a budget because I will just try to keep a conscious mind and use my money wisely.” Trust me when I say this, YOU NEED A BUDGET! And no not just a general budget of a set number, but a budget that breaks down into categories. That’s where having a planner comes in handy! We break down the budget into categories and make it easier for you to not overspend or to save money all together.



3. Vendors:


We have connections and know amazing vendors that we have worked with in the past. We trust these vendors because we know their work ethic.

We contact all vendors and make sure they are available for your wedding. We stay in touch with them throughout the whole planning process by emailing, calling, texting, and stalking… just kidding we don't stalk anyone unless you want us to. We keep you and the vendors informed and up to date with all details or changes. We confirm all the final details with each and every single vendor. We coordinate with you and the vendors and make sure the timing is perfect for both parties and then we set up appointments and meetings.  As the planner we also remind you about all your vendor appointments and when all your payments for vendors are due as well. We also attend meetings with you and vendors and give you our best advice and our professional opinion.



4. Your Wedding Style:


We stick by your side and help you pick out a theme or a color scheme. As the planner we guide you in the right direction if you are clueless on what you want for your wedding. We love providing ideas and even helping out with DIY projects (well some of us enjoy that sort of thing).



5. Formalities:


As the planner we are here to give you advice on what works in weddings and

what doesn’t. You are going to have a lot of questions and trust me we have all the answers. Don't be afraid to ask, even if its about inviting a certain person  or how to figure out the dress code for your wedding guests and how to bring it up to them.



6.Tedious Tasks:


We keep track of all the pesky details such as RSVPs, number of guests, seating charts, place cards, meals, out of town guests, out of town guest welcome gifts, favors and much more. Having to go out of your way to retrieve all of RSVPs can be quite a pain if you are not used to dealing with that, but as the planner we have strategic ways to keep track of those things. We also have those brides that like the idea of handling that themselves and when their guests don't bother sending the RSVP back then the brides become overwhelmed and super stressed out. Just remember that's another thing we as the planner can take off your hands.



This is just a summarized version of what we actually do. If I was to type every detail, I would end up with a 10 page paper single spaced. Let's be honest you would be done reading after page 2. So to conclude this, weddings are quite hard work and we love planning them and believe that you should enjoy your engagement stress free by allowing us to do all the hard work planning your wedding!
